An improvised explosive device killed a Canadian soldier on patrol in Afghanistan's Kandahar Province Sunday, the defense ministry announced. The serviceman was identified as Corporal Yannick Scherrer of the 22nd Royal Infantry Regiment. His death brings to 155 the total number of Canadian losses in the Afghan war since 2002.
