Israel's military confirmed carrying out Wednesday's dawn strike, claiming it targeted Palestinians who had launched a short-range rocket across the border on Tuesday.
A statement issued by the al-Quds Brigade, Islamic Jihad's armed wing, said the two belonged to their resistance organization, but had been going to pray when they were attacked.
A second attack by Israeli warplanes targeted a tunnel in the southern Gaza Strip used to smuggle goods from Egypt, said a member of the Palestinian security services.
In the meantime, Israeli occupation troops have demolished six homes of a group of Palestinians living in an area south of the West Bank.
According to local residents, two Israeli bulldozers entered the area located near the city of al-Khalil on Tuesday razing the homes of dozens of Palestinians living in the area.
Israeli occupation troops also arrested seven Palestinians after clashes erupted between the residents and Israeli forces. Israel claims the homes were "illegally built."
