For its part, Iranian news agency IRNA quoted Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Spokesman Brigadier General Hamid Sarkhail as saying that “the three-day drills are aimed at testing the IRGC’s new arms and equipment as well as maintaining its combat readiness.”

“Examining modern and advanced equipment is another objective for the maneuver, Sarkhail further stated, indicating that “the current stage includes engaging the military units in the battle, as they are required to leave their locations and strike the required targets.”

In a similar context, the Iranian official highlighted “the military experts’ success in surveiling, uncovering, and frustrating the electronic frequencies sent by the suppositional enemy to jam their electronic programs.”

The IRGC held a three-day missile drill dubbed “The Great Prophet 7” in the central province of Semnan last July.
