The Israeli occupation forces are on high alert ahead of martyred Palestinian prisoner Arafat Jaradat’s funeral, as they have prepared themselves for potential violent riots and clashes.
Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the armed wing of Fatah movement vowed Monday to avenge the martyrdom of Arafat Jaradat in an Israeli prison, stating that “this horrific crime will not go unpunished and we promise the Zionist occupation that we will respond to this crime."
The Palestinian factions assured that Jaradat was martyred as a result of the torture he was subjected to by the occupation prison guards.
A statement distributed to crowds at the funeral of the martyr further said: “Al-Aqsa brigades, the armed wing of the Fatah national liberation movement, mourns with all pride its hero, the martyr of freedom, the prisoner Arafat Jaradat.”
This comes as the Israeli occupation forces were on high alert ahead of Jaradat’s funeral, as they have prepared themselves for potential violent riots and clashes, an Israeli website said.
Ynetnews further reported that the Zionist Security Forces “have bolstered deployment near Al-Khalil and in the area surrounding the villages of Beit Einun and Saeer, where Jaradat resided.”
It noted that “the Palestinian Authority's security forces are not usually present near Saeer and therefore would not be able to curb any violence, should it erupt.”
The Israeli website added that the occupation forces have deployed in several points outside the village, to ensure that the funeral procession would not reach the nearby of “Highway 60”, which is used by Israeli settlers.
In parallel, it indicated that “troops stationed in the West Bank have also been placed on high alert.”
