A police officer said the bomber detonated the explosives-rigged vehicle in west Mosul at about 12:30 pm (0930 GMT).
Meanwhile in Baquba, north of Baghdad, a sniper killed a Sahwa anti-Qaeda militia member, according to police officer and a doctor.
