Queen Elizabeth II left King Edward VII Hospital on Monday after a one-day stay caused by a stomach ailment, having been admitted for the first time in 10 years after suffering from the symptoms of gastroenteritis, British media said.
The illness forced her to call off a visit to Rome this week, which would have been her first overseas trip since October 2011.
Media reports earlier said the queen, 86, would stay for two days because of gastroenteritis. She fell ill Friday, and was being treated at Windsor Castle until Sunday, when she was moved to a central London hospital as a precaution.
Britain's head of state has enjoyed robust health and rarely misses engagements.
