Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei said on Thursday that the enemies are angry at the Iranian nation’s wonderful breakthroughs after lapse of 34 years.
Addressing Experts Assembly members, the Supreme Leader stated that belief in Islam and maintaining a spirit of hopefulness are the main factors behind the country’s progress.
“The ideals of the Islamic establishment are among the necessary elements for materializing Iran’s objectives,” Ayatollah Khamenei said, noting that such a long-term attitude will help develop a correct understanding about the issues.
Sayyed Khamenei said that one of the duties of scholars is to help maintain the spirit of hopefulness among people, the youth in particular.
“The Iranian nation’s dignity in the Islamic world, dominance of religious discourse in the society, scientific and technological progress, political and international influence of the Islamic establishment and justice-related infrastructural measures are among the wonderful instances of progress which were once considered impossible before the victory of the Islamic Revolution,” his eminence said.
“Another sign of progress is the enemies’ anger and embarrassment, the Supreme Leader stressed, noting that if there had not been any breakthrough, the enemies would have not been so angry as they are now.”
Referring to Iran-G5+1 talks in Almaty, the Leader said that the westerners did not do something important; rather they admitted to a small section of the Iranian nation’s rights.
As for the sanctions imposed on Iran, the Supreme Leader said they are among other challenges, pointing out that the westerners want to provoke the people against the ruling regime through the sanctions, adding that people’s massive turnout in rallies marking the victory anniversary of the Islamic Revolution revealed that their efforts were futile.
The Leader also said that the people will also actively take part in the upcoming presidential elections.
During the meeting, Head of the Experts Assembly Ayatollah Mohammad Reza Mahdavi Kani briefed the Leader on the 13th official meeting of the assembly which concluded on Wednesday in Tehran.
