The Minister of Energy in the Caretaker Government Gebran Bassil pressed the button linking between the Turkish power barge, Fatmagul Sultan, and the Lebanese network via Zouk power plant.

In a brief statement after the ship arrived, Bassil hoped Lebanon would come to light after ongoing blackouts across the country. Bassil said that in the year 2015 electricity would be 24 hours if measures of the electricity plan were to be fully applied.
