The source told Arab daily, Asharq al-Awsat, that the warning which was issued by the US embassy in Beirut on Friday was “a routine action that renews every six months.”

“According to the US system, the Department of State carries out revision for all of the warnings and issue them twice a week.”

The source noted that the developments which occurred following the earlier travel warning(issued in September 17), were the assassination of Information Branch in Internal Security Forces, Brigadier Wissam al-Hasan, the clashes on the Lebanese-Syrian clashes especially in the area of Ersal and the security tensions in the city of Sidon.

The source also denied there was a threat by Hezbollah to the American nationals in Lebanon.
