Lebanese MP Tammam Salam, consensual candidate for prime ministry, asserted that he did not want to exaggerate and make promises, because he “is aware that his task will not be easy,” and his desire is to “build internal bridges” between different sides, As-Safir daily reported Saturday.
Salam told the Lebanese newspaper that his cabinet will mainly focus on “reaching an agreement on the electoral law, carrying out elections, settling civil peace, and achieving national reconciliation.”
On the resistance file, Salam assured that “we are unreservedly with resistance against the occupation, but we reject directing arms at any internal side.”
