Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said late on Thursday that Turkey will support any American move towards enforcing a no-fly zone in Syria.
Erdogan called upon the United States to take further steps in Syria. He also expressed the Turkish intention to support any American move to impose a no-fly zone in Syria from the beginning. The Turkish PM supported any American step to even deploy American troops in Syria.
Syrian Army Using Chemical Weapons
Speaking to NBC News, Erdogan said the Syrian army used chemical weapons and “violated the limits set by the international community.”
He added that the Syrian troops launched 200 missiles, yet he didn’t clarify whether they all carried chemical weapons.
The Turkish leader added that the injured people being moved to Turkish hospitals with burns on their bodies proved the use of chemical weapons.
Erdogan told NBC, “I reject the idea that Assad's opponents have used such weapons because they lack access to them.”
