Palestinian refugees in Lebanon commemorated the 65th anniversary of the “Nakba” by a number of activities, ceremonies, and marches.
Hundreds of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon marched on Monday towards the Lebanese bordering region with Palestine, Naquora, under tight security measures by the Lebanese Army.
The marching crowd of Palestinians waved slogans requesting their rightful return to their homeland.
They called on the United Nations, Arabs, and Western countries, to grant them their legitimate rights by restoring them back the land that the Zionist entity had occupied.
Hezbollah issued a statement supporting the Palestinian right of returning to their homeland and all the principles of the Palestinian just cause.
In 1948 hundreds of thousands of Palestinians fled or were forced from their villages during the war that established the Zionist entity.
The occupation soldiers also wiped nearly 500 Palestinian villages off the map, leaving an estimated total of 4.7 million Palestinian refugees dreaming of an eventual return to their homeland.
In the evening of Tuesday, a pre-recorded speech by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas was broadcast on Palestinian television.
Abbas said that the Palestinian right to an "independent state" had been affirmed by "countries all over the world" and called on the 'Israeli government' to show its positive intentions during negotiations by releasing Palestinian prisoners.
