Russian Ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Zasypkin conveyed a verbal message on Thursday to the Lebanese care-taker Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour from his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov on the situation in Syria.

Russian Ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Zasypkin conveyed a verbal message on Thursday to the Lebanese care-taker Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour from his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov on the situation in Syria, following the agreement between Russia and the United States upon convening an international conference on the Syrian crisis.

"We are making efforts to arrange this conference with the concerned parties," Zasypkin told reporters after meeting with Mansour.

"There must be solutions for some logistics related to the agenda, the number of participants and the level of attendance," he added, pointing out that “communication with the concerned international and Arab parties move continuously in this regard.”

Zasypkin however expressed anxiety of talks about the prohibitive conditions set for the conference, such as the noes put by the Syrian opposition that aim at “exerting pressure on the other party in the Syrian conflict.”

The Russian Ambassador also stressed that "the Syrian people want to stop the bloodshed and to normalize the situation, which is a priority in Russian politics and we want to make it happen."
