This development followed also a security violation in Arish at dawn on Monday, where a group of terrorists carried out a military attack against the Central Security Service camp. The attack which did not result in human losses was faced by the Egyptian army.
As they kidnapped 7 Egyptian soldiers on Thursday, the militant groups demanded releasing their peers from the Egyptian jails. Whereas, an Egyptian source mentioned that meeting the militants’ demands is impossible.
Seven blindfolded men appeared in a video on Youtube on Sunday claiming that they are the 7 kidnapped soldiers. They demanded the release of the prisoners that belong to the militant groups, yet the video was not verified.
The Egyptian President Mohammad Mursi announced that all the options in dealing with the militants are possible.
For its part, Information Governmental Authority said in a statement that the military reinforcement in Sinai comes in the context of the preparation to start a wide military campaign to release the kidnapped soldiers and maintain security and stability in the region.
