Dayale Governor Omar Hmayre survived an assassination attempt as an explosion targeted his motorcade in Meqdadeyeh northeast Baquba.
Local security sources mentioned that Hmayre “survived an assassination attempt as a bomb explosion, followed by an armed attack, targeted his motorcade in Meqdadeyye.”
 Also, it was noted that Hmayre and 3 of his security guards were wounded and one of the motorcade’s cars was damaged.

In a different context, a group of militants seized a police station north Baghdad on Thursday evening.
A military source mentioned that the militants stormed the station after a mortar bombardment that enabled them to control it.
He stressed that the military forces besieged the police station with the help of helicopters to arrest the militants and regain control over the post.
 The Iraqi authorities did not deliver any statement. Also, the human losses have not been announced yet; however, it was mentioned that ambulances rushed to the scene immediately.
