The fighting between the neighborhoods of Bab al-Tabbaneh and Jabal Mohsen subsided at dawn on Saturday. However it intensified again in the morning with heavy weapons were used.
Sniper fire were also reported, with at least one man was killed on Saturday taking the death toll of the clashes to at least 25.
Meanwhile, Agence France Presse quoted a security source as saying that Four people from Bab al-Tabbaneh were reported dead overnight, including one who died of his wounds.
It added that another one was killed in Jabal Mohsen, taking the death toll to 28.
The source also said that at least 204 people have been wounded in the fighting that erupted in Tripoli on Sunday.
Rocket-propelled grenades, mortars and machineguns have all been used in six days of clashes in the port city, in the deadliest violence to rock the country for years.
