Al-Manar Correspondent reported that the army has taken tight security measure across the city neighborhoods.

He quoted security sources as saying that the situation was “excellent”. However he noted that the traffic in the city was still low, predicting it would be better by afternoon.

Our correspondent said that all roads which witnessed sniper activity throughout the week of clashes were completely open.
He added that there were several meetings for the political factions in the city as well as for the commanders of the fronts.

“The army reinforces its deployment in al-Riva area, as it deploys in the roads of al-Mankoubeen, Syria, al-Omari and al-Barraniyeh.”

For its part, Arab Democratic Party held a meeting and issued a statement confirming its commitment to the decision of the Lebanese Army.

"We back the deployment of the Lebanese army in all areas and we demand the deployment of the Lebanese army in Bab al-Tabbaneh and we ask it to shoot back at the sources of gunfire, even if these sources were in Jabal Mohsen, in line with all the statements we issued in the past," the party said.

The statement stressed that Jabal Mohsen “cannot attack the city of which it is a main component."

On the other hand, Arab Democratic Party voiced surprise over the absence of President Michel Sleiman’s role in what's coming on in Tripoli.

Sleiman “is the commander-in-chief of the armed forces and he is supposed to play a key role in addressing the deteriorating situations” in Tripoli.
