As it considered this step was an achievement for the Syrian Army, Channel 2 said that the operation hit one of the major fronts for arms smuggling from Lebanon to the Syrian opposition.

The Zionist TV station noted that the regaining of Al-Qusayr “proves that the Syrian Army controls the most strategic areas of Syria.”

“What happened in Al-Qusayr will prevent militants from carrying out counter-attacks for months,” it added.
