A spokeswoman of the U.S. State Department announced Tuesday that the U.S. is still searching for suitable means to support the Syrian militants.

American media outlets also stated that President Barak Obama has held on Tuesday several official meetings to study the armament case.

Several U.S. officials further revealed that U.S. administration may take a decision during this week to arm the Syrian militants.

“Many lessons have to be learnt after Qusayr and Aleppo battles,” said ministry spokesman Philippe Lalliot.

“We have discussed arming the Syrian militants with the Americans, the Saudis, the Turks and others,” he added.

Lalliot also revealed that there would be a meeting on Saturday between a French official with Salim Idriss, the chief of the so-called 'Free Syrian Army.'

“No decision has been taken to arm the Syrian opposition, yet the issue will be reviewed after the fall of Qusayr. We will not leave the Syrian opposition in such conditions,” he asserted.
