"Such a resolution cannot obtain the agreement of the Security Council," the French foreign ministry spokesman Philippe Lalliot told reporters on Friday.

“Such measures need international authorization,” he added.

The United States alleged on Thursday that the Syrian army had used chemical weapons knowing that a previous UN report asserted that the militant groups in Syria are using chemical weapons.

The US official, accordingly, refused to rule out arming the Syrian opposition and imposing a no-fly zone in Syria.

The Wall Street Journal mentioned that US army seeks a limited no-fly zone in Syria to protect the opposition military camps.
