The scholarly council in Bahrain announced at a press conference in its headquarters on Tuesday the Islamic unity Document as “a religious identity, rational logic, and life necessity,’ in the context of nipping sectarian dispute and consecrating the concept of unity and brotherhood.
The prelude of the document expressed that the council’s deep belief in the “Islamic unity and coexistence among all the Muslims.” The members of the council considered that it is the Document of religion and honor.
“We have adopted the Document, and we are committed to it,” they said, “We further call upon all the religious figures and the dignitaries in Bahrain and abroad to adopt it in order to consecrate the concept of the Islamic unity and to avoid the sectarian disputes which lead the Islamic nation to failure and vulnerability.”
It also urged to consider all those who certificate God and His Prophet as Muslims and to sanctify their souls, possessions, and honor.
The document further stressed that the differences between the religious views must be respected, saying that “it must not lead to a sectarian strife.”
“We decline stirring the sectarian conflict by any part.” the council added.
Al-Michaal: Islamic Unity Is a Granted Religious Duty
The Chairman of the Council Sayyed Majeed Michaal considered that Islamic unity among all the Muslims is badly needed. Although he declared the existence of a lot of differences, Michaal deemed that they must not lead to sectarian disputes.
“The differences must not justify the disputes among the Muslims.” he said during the conference.
“The scholars in this Council, who follow the trend of the Prophet Mohammad’s Household (P), stress the importance of the Islamic unity,” he added.
Al-Ghureify: To Dry up Sources of Extremist Calls
“This Document is historical since it calls on all the Muslims to preserve their unity which has been preserved for a long time, yet the enemy’s conspiracies led to the Islamic fragmentation,” Sayyed Mohammad Al-Ghureify, who spoke on behalf of the Seminaries in Bahrain, said.
Palestinian Cause is Central
The document underscored the Palestinian cause as central for the Islamic Nation. It also asserted the complete hatred for the Zionist entity and the right for all the Muslims to resist this occupying entity.
The document laid on the religious scholars, intellectuals, and the government the major responsibility to fortify the Islamic nation against any brand of sectarian conflicts and to consolidate the principle of moderation.
