Syria: 'Friends of the Syrian People' conference, 2012Foreign ministers of the so-called "Friends of Syria" group will meet in Doha on Saturday to discuss aid for the militant opposition groups, including military help, a French diplomat said.

Ministers of Britain, France, the United States, Germany, Italy, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and Egypt will attend the meeting, the source said Wednesday.

It will address in a "concerted, coordinated and complementary manner" the concerns raised by the opposition's military chief during the last "Friends of Syria" meeting in Ankara last Friday, the diplomat said.

The rebels have asked for anti-air and anti-tank missiles following gains achieved by the Syrian national army on the ground.

Syria was hit by a violent unrest since mid-March 2011, where the Syrian government accuses foreign actors of orchestrating the conflict, by supporting the militant opposition groups with arms and money.
