Hezbollah condemned the attacks that Assir’s militants launched against the Lebanese army and civilians in the southern city of Sidon, killing and wounding dozens of soldiers and residents there.
The party further expressed its pain, grief, and rage for what had struck the army and the people of the beloved Sidon.
Hezbollah noted in a statement on Monday that “this horrible crime which killed a number of officers, soldiers, and civilians is an assault against all the Lebanese and targets their security, subsistence, present, and future.”
“This crime targeted the main Lebanese institution that guarantees the civil peace, preserves stability, and protects all the Lebanese with all their groups,” the statement read.
Hezbollah asserted his “full solidarity with the Lebanese army” and considered that “the recurrence of such crimes against the Lebanese army is very dangerous as it affects the prestige of the authority and the security of the nation as a whole.
“All the Lebanese from their different positions, responsibilities, and affiliations have to support, embrace, and express solidarity with the Lebanese army,” the statement confirmed.
Hezbollah demanded the concerned authorities to take all the measures that prevent the repetition of such attacks and drag the criminals to justice.
Hezbollah offered condolences for the leadership as well as the officers and the soldiers of the Lebanese army for the great martyrs who were killed as they were defending Lebanon’s unity and civil peace, asking Almighty God to inspire their families patience and consolation.
“Hezbollah also hopes God to bless the wounded with speedy recovery and to protect Lebanon and its loyal people from any source of evil,” the statement concluded.
