A car bomb exploded and killed nine people and wounded 17 others next to al-Jalaa Hospital building amid a crowded area in Benghazi at midday.
A death toll was reported by AFP marked 15 dead and 30 wounded, according to the Libyan Deputy Interior Minister.
The deputy minister added that the explosion completely destroyed a restaurant and severely damaged the nearby buildings.
“I saw the people collecting and dragging body parts there,” an eyewitness said.
The blast occurred in a parking lot, according to reports.
This explosion comes in a context of continuous security violations that are targeting Benghazi as a number of military attacks against security headquarters were launched during the last few weeks.
