Speaker Nabih Berri called on the General Assembly of the Lebanese parliament to hold a session on July 1, 2, and 3.
Lebanese Speaker Nabih Berri called on the General Assembly of the Lebanese parliament on Wednesday to hold a session on July 1, 2, and 3.
The session will be preceded by a meeting for the bureau of the parliament at Ain el-Tineh.
The new wage scale draft law is one of the most prominent items on the session’s schedule.
Reaching a new electoral law will also be discussed during the session as Speaker Berri tends to adjust the structure of the electoral subcommittee to include deputies and ministers, according to a number of deputies who met Berri Wednesday.
Berri revealed his intention to ask for resuming the meetings of the electoral subcommittee to reach a new voting law.
The 17-month extension of the parliament mandate was mainly caused by the lawmakers’ failure to reach a new electoral law.
