The Supreme State Security Prosecution in Egypt referred nine people including three Egyptians and six Israelis, four of them are said to be Zionist intelligence officers, to the Criminal Court on charges of spying for the Zionist entity.
Local Al Ahram newspaper reported on Wednesday that the investigation revealed that the three Egyptians, who are residents of the Egyptian Rafah area in northern Sinai, had delivered information to the Zionist officers about the security situation in Sinai and points of national military forces deployment.
According to the daily, the accused Egyptians are Auda Talab Ibrahim, Salamah Hamed Abu Jarad and Mohammad Ahmad Ayada Abu Jarad.
Moreover, it also identified the Mossad officers as Danny Ovadia, Aharon Danone, David Jacob and Shlomo Sofer, in addition to two other defendants living in Avakim region of Bir Sheva inside the occupied territories: Abdullah Salim Ibrahim Al-Roqeiba and Omar Harb Abu Jarad.
Earlier this month, security forces arrested an Egyptian man on suspicion of spying for the Zionist entity, accusing him of having worked for Mossad.
Egypt's courts are currently judging the case of a Jordanian engineer accused of the same charge.
In June 2011, Egypt convicted US-Israeli dual national Ilan Grapel of spying for the entity of occupation, but freed him four months later as part of an exchange that saw Zionists’ release of 25 Egyptians from jail.
