MP Ali Fayyad said on Friday that recent remarks made by the Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal are making little of peoples’ minds.
Member of the Loyalty to Resistance parliamentarian bloc in Lebanon, MP Ali Fayyad, said on Friday that recent remarks made by the Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal are making little of peoples’ minds and misleading the Arab and international public opinion.
Faisal has said on Wednesday that the Syrian land is occupied by foreign fighters from Hezbollah and Iran.
"It is unworthy to express nonsense positions from the state which is well aware that Syria cannot be occupied by Hezbollah, either in politics or indeed,” the Hezbollah MP said in response.
“Syria is our brother-resistant and the direct and neighboring uncooperative ally," he voiced.
Fayyad urged the Arab kingdom to stop its interference in Syria, saying: “It is better for the Saudi Arabia to stop pumping the Syrian arena with weapons and money and halt its encouragement for the flow of extremists to Syria, which fuel the conflict, exacerbate feelings of hatred and destroy the society and the state alike.”
“Saudi Arabia should stop blocking access to a peaceful political solution for the Syrian crisis," the Lebanese MP went on to say.
Fayyad also pointed out that the position of Iran and Hezbollah towards the Syrian crisis has been always integrated within the context of encouraging dialogue between all the Syrian sides.
“Our stance has been expressed always in order to create the necessary environment for a political solution of the united, safe, stable and strong Syria,” he concluded.
Syria was hit by a violent unrest since mid-March 2011, where the Syrian government accuses foreign actors of orchestrating the conflict by supporting the militant opposition groups with arms and money.
