Turkish police arrested four of the anti-government protestors in Dikmen residential area of Ankara late Thursday, trying to put an end to the ongoing demonstrations there.

The clashes erupted as the police used tear gas and water cannons to disperse the protestors.

"Several hundred people had gathered chanting slogans against the government and refused to leave until late night," a protester told Agence France Presse.

The Turkish State TV claimed that the protestors erected barricades and blocked traffic.

Demonstrations in Turkey started as the police brutally acted against the protestors at Istanbul’s Taksim Square.

The public moves snowballed, and the clashes left 4 dead and around 8000 injured.

The International community harshly criticized Erdogan’s government for the excessive power it had used against the peaceful protestors.
